How to Ditch the Overwhelm to Connect with What Matters Most

Every year, and sometimes in between, I get to this place of "overwhelm."

There's SO much I want to do with our children.

There are SO many great curriculum options and resources and activities.

It's easy to get lost in the sea of ideas and lose sight of what is most important.

Being a former curriculum writer and public school educator, I also have found it challenging to just follow a curriculum without knowing where I was headed.

I found it overwhelming when I wanted to do other things but felt enslaved to the curriculum schedule and expectations.

It took me a good long while to break free, but when I finally did, it was the most amazing thing ever.

I was able to enjoy our children more. I was able to walk by faith, allowing The Lord to truly lead us in the day-to-day experiences. I was able to use the curriculum as a tool rather than a dictator. And I was able to finally "teach from rest."

If you're longing to break free but don't know where to start, here’s a new video series I put together to help you do just that.

Video 1: In this video, we begin with the "end in mind" and develop a vision and prayer for our homeschools. Join me as I take you through a series of questions and reflections that will help you target what is most important to you and your family.

Video 2: This video shares the heart behind my Bucket Planning System. Here, I share all about the goals and objectives that I have put together for our homeschool. I discuss the homeschool "big picture" that encompasses the entire journey and share step-by-step directions to help you create yours as well.

Video 3: In this video, I take you through the process of planning the homeschool year. We begin with student goals and group studies and work through all of the most important things, including curriculum wish lists, budgeting, attendance keeping, calendar planning, evaluations, and more!

Video 4: In this final video, we work through our yearly homeschool plan to create lessons and activities that keep us focused on the most important things. Explore a variety of lesson planning formats, tips, and ideas to make it all happen.

I hope this series blesses you with the tools and support you need to find true freedom in your homeschool. Click below for more information on my Bucket Planners. And may you spend each day connecting with what matters most.
