Children's Books That Inspire a Love for Others

Over the years, we have read hundreds, if not thousands, of books. We’ve read books on science and nature and history and missionaries. We have read Bible devotionals, books on artists, and books that have taught us important lessons on character and life.

Through it all, we have also made sure to include books with a variety of characters, from different cultural backgrounds. My hope has been to open God’s world to our children and inspire a love for others.

We’ve used a variety of resources to pull together our book lists, including My Father’s World, Beautiful Feet Books, and some that I was familiar with through my experience with teaching ELAR.

In this video, I share short book reviews on some of our favorites. In it you’ll find books about cultural differences, books on skin color, books on valuing the elderly, and books that share the beauty in others.

What did you think?

I'd love to hear your thoughts. Please add to the list in the comments below!
